What does a waterproof throw actually protect against?
Everyday liquids, not a flood. A spilled coffee, a water bowl, a dog coming in wet: the coating buys you time to wipe before the sofa fabric soaks it up. It does not replace a fully sealed cover, and it does not protect against claws.
Which size for which sofa?
A straight sofa and a corner sofa do not call for the same formats. A straight sofa needs length, a corner sofa needs width to cover the return.

Waterproof or non-slip, do you have to choose?
These are two separate functions, and they are often confused. Waterproofing protects against liquids, a non-slip backing stops the throw sliding off a leather sofa. If your problem is a throw that ends up on the floor three times an evening, what you need is a silicone backing, not a waterproof coating.
Common questions
Can it go in the machine? Yes at 86°F, but air dry it. A tumble dryer degrades the water-repellent coating within a few cycles.
Does the coating wear off? It weakens with washing, which is normal. Space out the washes by wiping small accidents with a damp sponge rather than running a full cycle.
Is it suitable for outdoors? Our camping and outdoor models have a reinforced underside made to sit on the ground. A sofa throw laid on grass will soak through from below.
